Lucille, Miss January
Lucy National Pampered Pets was established to help the National Humane Society raise funds to meet their objectives to combat animal abuse and overpopulation in the United States and all over the world.

The Pet Calendar Project was created to build awareness of the program, and the Humane Society as a whole. Almost 1000 photos were submitted of pets, which were judged by the public.

Castaway's Ms. Lucille was voted among the 12 winning photos and her picture (Miss January) is featured in their 2010 calendar.

When Lucille was taken in by Castaway Critters it was quickly discovered she was pregnant. She was placed in a foster home and soon gave birth to five kittens. Her foster mom (Tracy) is the one that submitted Lucille's picture to National Pampered Pets.

Lucille had more love to give and shortly after she gave birth to her own litter, she became a surrogate to four more kittens. She took care of all nine until they could be adopted.

This very loving cat is still at Castaway's waiting for adoption. She is extremely sweet, likes all of the attention, and would love to be an only cat.
